Objective:

Certified Apiculturist The certification scheme aims to acquire the required knowledge, skills and behaviors for the Beekeeper. In more detail, the certified are expected to understand the basic Principles of the profession and to operate in accordance with applicable laws and regulations and the rules of ethics.

Who is this course for

Beekeeping as an activity is important for several areas of our country, both as a main professional occupation and to supplement and enhance the income of those employed in the primary sector and beyond. Greece has one of the largest numbers of professional beekeepers (> 150 bees), and the highest density of hives / km2, not only in the EU but also around the world. Beekeeping is an important branch of primary production for our country. It is a dynamic profession that can provide a professional outlet and support for family income.

The certified person should be able to understand the basic principles for:

 

• The breeding of bees for the production of honey
• The breeding of bees for the production of wax
• The breeding of bees for the production of royal jelly
• The breeding of bees for the production of wax
• The assurance of the quality of its products
• The efficient organization and profitability of its operation

Course Details:

The Course comprises the following 4 sections:

  • General knowledge (beekeeping, production of beekeeping products). environmental protection and quality assurance of production - compliance with national and Community legislation

  • Supply of swarms of bees. selection, participation in the installation and maintenance of the necessary for the needs of the exploitation of the beekeeping equipment, as well as of the building installations

  • Management of its exploitation and management of its human resources

  • Collective schemes, cooperative, association, producer group, networks for the promotion-sale of beekeeping products, networks (clusters) of rural tourism professionals, etc.

For those who want to be certified on the field:

In our offices we offer the actual examinations for the certification of Internal Auditor which is accredited by the Hellenic Accreditation System E.SY.D. and it is thereby recognized throughout Europe.
